Etude House AC Clean Up Cleansing Water (Makeup Remover For Acne-Prone Skin) | Review

Formulated with salicylic acid, tea tree oil and madecassoside, Etude House AC Clean Up Cleansing Water is a water-based makeup remover specially designed for acne-prone skin. It not only thoroughly removes stubborn makeup, but it also buffs away dead skin cells and combats acne-causing bacteria, leaving your skin clean and refreshed. It is non-comedogenic, meaning it will not clog your pores.

Ingredients List: Water, Peg-6 Caprylic/Capric Glycerides, 1,2-Hexonediol, Glycerin, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Water, Salicylic Acid, Madecassoside, Melaleuca Alternifolia (Tea Tree) Leaf Oil, Chamaecyparis Obtusa Leaf Extract, Ampelopsis Japonica Root Extract, Allium Cepa (Onion) Bulb Extract, Allium Sativum (Garlic) Bulb Extract, Carica Papaya Fruit Extract, Disodium EDTA, Butylene Glycol, Glyceryl Caprylate, Fragrance

It comes in a plastic bottle with a snapped-on cap.

It has a light watery texture with a medicated herbal scent.

How To Use:
Simply dampen a cotton pad with an appropriate amount of cleansing water and gently wipe off the makeup on your face. For eye and lip makeup, press a soaked cotton pad on the eyelid and lips for 5~10 seconds, and then wipe off the makeup. Repeat the step until there's no trace of makeup left on your skin.

Tried and Tested

To test the makeup removal ability, I swatched different types of makeup on my arm:

Makeup used:
BB Cream: The Face Shop Power Perfection BB Cream
Concealer: DHC Medicated Acne Care Concealer
Eyeliner: K-Palette 1-Day Tattoo 24H Real Lasting Eyeliner (Waterproof)

Ready to put the makeup remover to the test! Starting from the right to the left.

NOTE: In the following pictures, I will be showing you how much makeup it can remove in one swipe.

- BB CREAM -

- FIRST SWIPE -

- CONCEALER, EYESHADOWS (half of it), Waterproof EYELINER & MASCARA -

- FIRST SWIPE -

- LIP MAKEUP -

- FIRST SWIPE -

As you can tell from the pictures, it dissolved and removed a decent amount of makeup in just one swipe.

After a few more swipes...
TA-DAHHH! CLEAN SKIN!

I'm very, very impressed at how well it works! It's strong enough that it doesn't take too many swipes to remove all traces of makeup even waterproof ones. This reduces the damage done to my skin (and acne). *thumbs-up*

I love how quickly it removes makeup and doesn't leave any oily or sticky after-feel. It leaves my skin feeling refreshed, clean and hydrated. There's nothing I dislike about this product.
It doesn't strip skin's moisture!

I have been using it for about three weeks and I haven't experienced any breakouts. So I concluded that this product cleanses well and helps in keeping acne at bay.

All in all, it does what it promises — thoroughly removes makeup. The best part? It doesn't make acne worse! It calms inflammation and fights acne-causing bacteria, making skin free from dreaded whiteheads and pimples. This has become my favorite makeup remover  and I highly recommend it to all!
