Laneige Two Tone Lip Bar in #02 Red Blossom | Review

Today, I'm going to do a quick review on Laneige Two Tone Lip Bar. This product has been on the market for some time, and I'm sure some of you may have tried it already. Anyway, I'm going to share my thoughts on it. Hope it will be useful to those who have yet to try it and are interested in getting one. So, let's jump right into the review!

Laneige Two Tone Lip Bar offers a combination of two colors in one lipstick for a perfect gradient lips. It is formulated with pure pigment technology to ensure a vivid color pay-off, and has a soft, moisturizing texture that glides onto the lips smoothly.

It is available in 14 lovely shades and the one I picked up is in #02 Red Blossom, which has a combination of red and nude.

The lipstick comes in a rectangular plastic tube with a pull-off cap.

Unlike usual twist and turn lipsticks, Laneige Two Tone Lip Bar features a slide button for quick extraction and retraction of the bullet.

What's so unique about Two Tone Lip Bar is that it creates a quick, fuss-free and perfect gradient lip look in just a few glides!

How To Use:
TIPS: The best Korean gradient lips technique is to blur out the lip line with a light or nude shade, and only add color to the centre of your pout for a blushing effect.

1. Apply it like a regular lipstick, with the lightest shade on the outer area of your lip and darker shade on the inner area of your lip. (Fig. A and B)
2. Purse your upper and lower lips together (Fig. C) to spread and blend the colors more evenly.
3. Blur the lip line by going over the edges of your lips with some foundation/concealer or a cotton swab for a softer look. (Optional)
4. Ta-dah! K-beauty's gradient lips achieved. (Fig. D)

- Make sure to remove the cap before lowering the button/lever.
- As the lipstick is prone to breaking, it is recommended to lift the bullet little by little and make sure you don't exert too much pressure when applying.

Tried and Tested

As mentioned earlier, I got it in the shade #02 Red Blossom, which has a combination of red and nude. It's my current favorite lipstick by the way.

It has a creamy and smooth texture that glides easily on the lips. The colors are very pigmented yet buildable, and they blend beautifully, creating a gorgeous semi-glossy ombre finish. It can be worn sheer for a natural look or layered for a more dramatic and bold look.

Here's the swatches and how it would look on lips:

I like how it reduces dark lip lines and plumps up my lips with its gradient effect. And I love how I can achieve a gradient lips effortlessly! The only complaint I have is that it's not very lasting and it does emphasize dry lips. So you definitely have to reapply after eating and drinking. And don't forget to prep your lips beforehand.

Overall, Laneige Two Tone Lip Bar is a very interesting lipstick that delivers what it promises. The shade #02 Red Blossom is such a pretty, wearable shade for everyday. I highly recommend it to everyone!
